Hotel Christiania Teater, Oslo, Norway – Junior Suite

Short overview video about our junior suite at Hotel Christiania Teater in Oslo.

Ok, but expectations not fulfilled…

With expectations it’s such a thing… If you expect something other than what you get, then you are disappointed. The question is, can you have a “slightly” higher expectation when you book the best room in the hotel?

The Hotel Christiania Teater is perfectly situated and would have the ideal conditions to be a “top hotel”. The reception was nice, but nothing more. Despite we’ve had “best category” the treatment wasn’t special f.e. taking the suitcases to the room or something else… Since we arrived by rental car, there was a little “stress” due to the parking / stopping ban in front of the hotel. As a guest you would wish for another solution.

Junior Suite Room No. 619

The suite was upstairs and with heavy suitcases – you had to master an intermediate staircase – rather difficult to reach. The first impression of the suite was good. The room layout and the cork decoration a little special. At second glance, however, we found that the cleaning was only superficial. We know that the cleaning staff is under pressure, but obvious traces of dirt in the corners or under the bed should already be removed, because these are the first traces that you see as a guest.

The record-summer we’ve felt also high up in the north – in Oslo. Since the suite was under the roof and the air conditioning was not working properly, the nights were not very relaxing. Either one slept “naked” under the blanket or simply with the short pyjamas over the blanket.

Restaurant

The breakfast buffet was excellent. A nice selection of bread, cereals, fruits, cold meat, eggs etc. was available. Tea or coffee (also cappuccino etc.) was available on request or self-service.

Norway is expensive. We knew that. In the price/performance ratio, however, the hotel is a little too expensive, especially for the suite category. More service is expected for the price.
