New Orleans Marriott, Louisiana, USA

Video about our room at New Orleans Marriott.

Perfectly located… but never go there while its Mardi Gras

After our Caribbean cruise we spent some days in New Orleans and spent the night in the Marriott. This is very centrally located and within a few minutes walk you can reach all the highlights of New Orleans such as the famous Bourbon Street. Unfortunately we didn’t like the stay so much, because there were simply too many people who got excessively drunk and celebrated Mardi Gras. We also like to go to parties and drink a glass every now and then, but this senseless mass drunkenness was no longer funny…
…but now to the review.

Hotel infrastructure:

The infrastructure of the hotel was good. You could see here and there that the building has already been on the hump for several years. We had a room with club lounge access and could enjoy the amenities of this lounge on the ground floor. In the lobby area there was a big hotel bar, a Starbucks and of course the reception.

Our Club king bed room (Room No. 2409) was on the 20th floor and was very small. It contained our booked King-Bed, a small bathroom and a sitting area. But there was nothing more to be found. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The shower worked perfectly and you could meet your hygiene needs.

Club Lounge:

As a club room guest we were allowed to use the lounge on the ground floor. It offered breakfast at certain times, but during our visit the lounge was overcrowded anyway. Due to the Mardi Gras the hotel was fully booked and the lounge was always full. The breakfast was quite ok. There was a relatively large selection and you could order fresh omelettes.

The stay would probably have been much more pleasant if we hadn’t been there while it was Mardi Gras. The price/performance ratio was probably too high, which was then offered to us…
